HarperIman Dolls
We began as a mother-daughter duo—Cynthia on the right and Kathryn on the left—but over time, we blossomed into best friends and business partners. Together, we are dedicated to creating dolls of color that reflect the ones we wished we had growing up. Our mission is to empower children of color by showing them how important, smart, beautiful, talented, and creative they truly are.
Healthy Roots Dolls
Healthy Roots Dolls is a toy company that creates dolls and storybooks that empower young girls and represent the beauty of our diversity. 65% of the world’s population has curly/wavy hair. In 2016, Dove conducted a study and found that only 4 out of 10 girls love their curls. Toys impact how we think, act, and perceive ourselves. So when girls can’t find dolls that look like them, it negatively impacts their self esteem. That’s why we created Zoe, the first Healthy Roots doll.
Brown Toy Box
The Brown Toy Box aims to make the STEM/STEAM field accessible to Black children, so they may see themselves represented in different spaces and careers that may otherwise seem daunting. Included toys cover subjects like architecture, engineering, entrepreneurship, aeronautics, health sciences, coding, environmental science, astronomy, robotics, finance, marine biology, and more. Parents can choose from box sets that focus on one subject, or opt. for toys across multiple disciplines that are both fun and educational.
Puzzle Huddle
In January 2018, with support from his wife, Marnel, Matthew Goins founded Puzzle Huddle, a black-owned business dedicated to enriching children's lives. As parents of three young children, all under the age of seven, Matthew and Marnel were inspired to start creating puzzles due to the scarce representation in commercially-produced puzzles. Fit puzzle pieces together to reveal pictures of young kids following their passions, including exploring as astronauts, working as doctors and vets, building robots, and more!
The Fresh Dolls
Created by a mom and former professor, this diverse line of dolls was designed to inspire Black children to see just how beautiful their skin is. You can shop for baby dolls, boy and girl fashion dolls, and dolls clothes.
