BRC 10-POINT PLATFORM

The purpose of our organization is to unify all black people of African descent. With the intent to build Global Black Unity. This unity will give us the leverage to force radical change in our communities across the globe. We will build black institutions to gain both political and economic power. We can then use that power and structure to rid our communities of drugs, gangs, and homelessness. This is a continuation of Malcolm X’s plan, he created for the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU). The following is a list of our objectives and demands.

  1. We want equality in the following departments of the US government: Dept. of Education, Dept. of Health & Human Services, Dept. of Housing, Dept. of Labor, Dept. of Justice, and the Dept. of Transportation. We will construct and implement a National Black Legislative Agenda, for equality on the local and federal level of the US government.

  2. We want an immediate end to police brutality, and the sanctioned murder of Black people. We want an immediate end to qualified immunity, which protects police officers from personal liability for constitutional violations. When a white officer kills an un-armed Black person, their reason is always the same. They say, “ I feared for my life” , the term associated with this, is called Justifiable Homicide. So, by their own admission white officers are inherently afraid of Black people. Therefore, white officers can no longer police in our Black neighborhoods. Only non-white police may serve our neighborhoods, and even then we demand police reform for ALL police officers. This legislative reform must include background checks that look into a person’s ideology, regular psyche evaluations, new training methods, and citizen accountability committees for each town they police. We also want the immediate end to police officers of any race being called to a mental health crisis in our community. Instead, we demand some of their police budget be given to a new unit of mental health specialists to deal with ALL mental health situations in our Black communities.

  3. We must own the majority of the businesses and the land in our communities including but not limited to: grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, movie theaters, malls, supermarkets, farms etc. Economic power in our communities is necessary to not only build Black generational wealth but also to gain the resources necessary to rebuild our communities from the inside out. We will build free programs associated with building our economic power, and educating our people on financial literacy.

  4. All schools in this nation that are majority Black are consistently underfunded. We demand that our schools be fully funded every year a new budget is made locally. We demand that ALL our schools teach the full factual account of America’s Black history, and the factual history of Africa. We also demand that ALL school boards in predominantly black areas should have the parents of the students on the board, to ensure our children are put first. Moreover, each BRC chapter will have a presence at ALL future school board meetings. To hold said board accountable for their budget choices and other actions.

  5. According to the Department of Labor, Black men earn 76 cents for every dollar earned by white people, and Black women earn 67 cents for every dollar earned by white people. Black people have consistently been undervalued and underpaid since our people were freed. We demand equal pay for ALL Black people, and equal employment opportunities. We will no longer stand for this racist wage gap. Our organization will create and implement programs that aid in finding our people employment opportunities, and free training workshops. We will also add events associated with our BUY BLACK LIST on a global scale.

  6. We do not accept political campaign promises. Instead, we will require that any politician that wants our Black vote must sign a legally binding contract that states what they will do for the Black community and under what time table. In order to have leverage in this regard we must unify our Black voting power. We must also register ALL black people to vote. To accomplish this, we must educate our people on the power we gain from a unified Black vote, in both local and national government. Our organization must have a presence at city council meetings nationwide, and in Washington DC. We must cultivate new leaders in our community to run for office at the local and state level to push our legislative agenda for equality.

  7. The current justice system has a disproportionate impact on Black society. Blacks have a higher arrest rate for the same offence when compared to white people. Also, the sentencing disparities, Black people get longer sentences for the same crimes as white people. Black communities are often subject to over-policing, with more frequent stops, searches, and arrests. We also have higher incarceration rates. We represent 13% of the U.S. population, and we make up 40% of the U.S. prison population. This is a significant racial disparity in incarceration rates. This is all due to disproportionately targeting Black communities. We also have higher bail amounts, and we are more likely to be denied bail. This contributes to pretrial detention, where Black people are held in jail for extended periods simply because they cannot afford bail.  We demand an end to ALL of these unjust practices.

  8. We demand an END to the massacre of our brothers and sisters in the Congo of Africa. We demand a full withdrawal from all colonizers on the continent of our Motherland Africa. Give the land and its riches back to its people. We intend to work together in this effort to build Global Black Unity.

  9. We demand the immediate end of ALL the Black gangs and drug dealers in our neighborhoods. We demand this country stop flooding our streets with the drug supply in the first place. We seek to provide gang members and drug dealers a way out of the street life, for the betterment of themselves and the community. We will build youth programs that include mentorship and counseling. We must meet them where they are, and restore their hope within themselves and their community.

  10. Under the law, EVERY citizen in America has the right to defend themselves. We will defend the preservation of our black-owned businesses and our communities by any means necessary. All of our Chapters around the world will have a protection force we call, the BRC Protectors. The BRC Protectors will act legally as a Neighborhood Watch Group. The BRC Protectors will also pay close attention to the activities of local police in Black neighborhoods. We will protect what we build and our people from ANYONE who would seek to harm us.
